Zahier
Zahier is an independent screenwriter, director, and illustrator—specializing in high-concept, character-driven stories.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Film & Television—at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)—Zahier has since committed to using his passion towards developing stories that use vibrant worlds and complex characters to explore identity, relationships, and the emotional realities of growing up.
His directorial debut, Happy Together (2024)—a psychological-thriller about a society that enforces happiness—received multiple awards and nominations, including Best Thriller Short at the Touchstone Independent Film Fest, and Best Student Male Director at the Independent Shorts Awards.
Zahier’s pitch deck for Starving Artists (2025), an adult-animated series exploring self-worth, trauma, and forgiveness in a heightened, stylized world—went on to receive Official Selections and Honorable Mentions at various festivals, before eventually ranking among the top 1% of all pitches on Coverfly. It was also a semi-finalist in the NexTV Writing & Pitch Competition.
The latest series in development is the first of its’ kind for him: a children’s animated series. Representing a culmination of everything he loves about storytelling—it blends coming-of-age drama with mystery, humor, and a touch of the surreal.
